About Me
Hank Rion is an Assistant Professor of Theatre at Gulf Coast State College, where he has directed One Man, Two Guvnors, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Wolves, Forum, Godspell, War of the Worlds: The Panic Broadcast and Red Speedo, a site=specific production at the GCSC Pool. Previously, Hank was the Artistic Director at The Henegar in Melbourne, FL. During his tenure there, he updated and premiered a production of the musical, Cry Baby, which is now being licensed around the world through Music Theatre International. He also directed the Southeastern Premieres of The Color Purple, The Witches of Eastwick, Hand to God and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Hank also directs professionally at Peach State Summer Theatre where he has directed Ring of Fire, Million Dollar Quartet, Mamma Mia! and Little Shop of Horrors, among others! Hank is the current Theatre Advisor for the state of Florida with the Florida College System Activities Association. He holds his BFA in Theatre from Valdosta State University and his MFA in Directing from CUNY-Brooklyn College.
